Talented singer, guitarist and songwriter Ani DiFranco has her roots in Buffalo, New York. She has released more than 20 albums. She’s been nominated four times for Best Recording Package at the Grammy Awards, one of which she won in 2004. Why am I stating these facts? In spite of all she’s done in her career I have somehow missed her completely until quite recently. But now I know and I think she seems to be a given on this list. Why? She is a productive, creative and good artist who I still discover new good songs of. She continues to impress me with good songs with well written lyrics. She is also one of those singers who stand up for those whose voices are not always heard.
