Valerie
June, born Valerie June Hockett, came to my attention when she released her
album Pushin’ Against a Stone earlier this year (2013). It does not surprise me
to hear that the album was co-written by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys (a
personal favorite of mine).
Her unique
voice combined with classic folk music makes an interesting combination well
worth listening to.
